Deep mahogany-brown with a reddish undertone, presenting moderate clarity with fine sediment suspended throughout characteristic of an unfiltered, unpasteurised ale. The head forms as a tan-beige collar of modest density that fades to a light ring, leaving delicate lacing on the glass as you drink. Carbonation is gentle and integrated, allowing the beer's weighty character to dominate.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with pronounced dark dried fruit—plums, raisins, and a subtle fig—layered beneath warm, toasted malt notes. Belgian yeast character emerges as a gentle fruity esters, accompanied by hints of caramel sweetness and a whisper of earth. No aggressive hop presence; instead, a soft spice warmth suggests the moderating effect of alcohol on the palate.

◐ Geschmack

The palate enters with a smooth, malty sweetness that carries dark fruit flavours—dried plums and candied leather—across the mid-palate. Caramel notes provide gentle body and residual sweetness, while a restrained bitterness (25 IBU) keeps the beer in balance rather than driving it. The 6.5% ABV warms appropriately without sharpness, and a faint yeasty minerality rounds the flavour profile.

The finish is medium in length, with dried fruit and toasted grain holding the palate briefly before a dry, slightly earthy fade. A gentle warming lingers, inviting reflection rather than demanding another immediate sip.
