◎ Aussehen

Deep brown to nearly black, with a warm mahogany translucence at the edges when held to light. The unfiltered character yields moderate natural cloudiness from suspended yeast and proteins. A dense, tan head forms readily and clings to the glass with persistent lacing.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with restrained roasted grain and a gentle cocoa powder note, followed by soft coffee undertones that develop with aeration. Subtle dark fruit suggests the 8.1% ABV, while the absence of harsh char indicates thoughtful malt selection and careful kilning. No aggressive hop aroma intrudes—the bouquet remains malt-centered and approachable.

◐ Geschmack

Entry is surprisingly mild and smooth, allowing the drinker a moment before intensely roasted malt takes command across the mid-palate. Dark chocolate and coffee flavors emerge in balance with restrained sweetness; bitterness is present but gentle at 45 IBU, providing structure without dominating. The alcohol integrates seamlessly, warming rather than burning, and contributes a slight dry edge to the finish.

◑ Abgang

The finish is medium to long, with roasted malt character lingering pleasantly on the palate. A faint coffee-tinged dryness persists without astringency, and the warmth of the 8.1% ABV slowly fades into the aftertaste.
