The beer shows excellent clarity with a full, persistent head that leaves distinct lacing on the glass, indicating good carbonation and malt structure. The visual presentation is clean and inviting, with a color that speaks to its Northwest red ale heritage.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with herbal and resinous hop character—earthy and green, with subtle pine and citrus undertones typical of Pacific Northwest varieties. Beneath the assertive bittering hops lies a supporting malt sweetness: toasted caramel and light amber notes that ground the aroma without softening it. The overall impression is confident and straightforward, with no floral or fruity distractions.

The palate opens with immediate hop bitterness that commands attention without harshness—a firm, dry entry that defines the beer's character. Mid-palate reveals the malt backbone: amber sweetness and caramel notes provide ballast and prevent the bitterness from becoming one-dimensional.
