Waiting in Vain presents a pale golden hue with a soft, turbid appearance characteristic of the hazy IPA style. A dense, creamy foam crowns the pour, with good initial retention that gradually settles into fine lacing along the glass. Fine suspended particles give the beer an inviting, lived-in clarity that suggests both the wheat and oat malt bill and the generous dry-hop charge.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with bright tropical fruit — ripe mango, passion fruit, and pineapple — followed by secondary notes of berry and stone fruit that add depth without overwhelming. Beneath the fruit lies a restrained but present resinous hop spice, grounding the bouquet with subtle pine and herbal character. The malt base contributes a soft, bready undertone that stabilises the overall aromatic profile.

The palate enters with a wave of juicy citrus and tropical stone fruit, followed by a full, creamy mouthfeel built from the wheat and oat malts. Mid-palate reveals berry notes and subtle peach character, with the integrated bitterness arriving cleanly rather than sharply — the 50 IBU sitting in balance with the fruit-forward hop profile. The resinous quality persists as a gentle backbone, never aggressive, allowing the fruity character to remain the focal point.
