Deep mahogany to near-black in the glass, with excellent clarity despite the style's darkness. A dense, tan head forms readily and clings to the glass walls with persistent lacing. Carbonation is moderate and well-integrated, supporting the beer's visual weight.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with roasted malt character—dark chocolate and coffee dominate, layered with subtle hints of cocoa and burnt grain. Beneath these foundational notes, a gentle warmth from the alcohol emerges without harshness. Minimal hop character allows the malt complexity to take center stage.

◐ Geschmack

The palate is rich and full-bodied, with roasted and chocolate flavors building immediately. A balanced bitterness (65 IBU) arrives mid-palate without dominating, complementing rather than overwhelming the malt sweetness. The 8% ABV provides a gentle warming effect that enhances rather than distracts from the core flavors, while a creamy texture rounds out the overall impression.

◑ Abgang

The finish is long and dry, with roasted flavors persisting into the aftertaste. A mild bitterness lingers pleasantly without astringency, leaving the palate clean despite the beer's density.
