Urban Chestnut Hallertauer Brauerei is the German arm of Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, founded in St. Louis by the Bavarian brewmaster Florian Kuplent and David Wolfe. In early 2015 the company bought the insolvent Bürgerbräu Wolnzach, a citizens' brewery in the heart of the Hallertau hop region, and brewed its first Hopfenperle there that spring. Under the name Hallertauer Serie it produces numbered Bavarian lagers and a pale ale, hopped exclusively with Hallertau varieties.
