Known for Kellerbier · Hefeweizen

Founded in 1997 to fill the void left when Hürlimann closed in 1996 as Zürich's last major brewery. Named after the turbine factory of Sulzer-Escher-Wyss that previously occupied the site in the Industriequartier. Zürich's largest brewery supplying approximately 100 gastronomy businesses. Philosophy: fresh, unpasteurized beer with short distribution chains — bottled every week, no preservatives needed.

How they compare
Each beer measured against others of its own style, then averaged across the range. Compared with 139 other breweries making Kellerbier, Hefeweizen and Euro Pale Lager.
Three beers is enough for a first read, not a full house style — one unusual beer moves this a lot.

TurbinenBräu's beers land close to what is typical for the Kellerbier, Hefeweizen and Euro Pale Lager styles they brew. The character is in the styles they choose and how consistently they hit them — not in standing apart from the field.
