Throwback Brewery was founded in July 2011 by Annette Lee and Nicole Carrier in North Hampton, New Hampshire, starting in a small warehouse on the New Hampshire seacoast. Lee, a former environmental engineer, and Carrier, an ex-IBM executive, launched the brewery with a mission to source 100% of ingredients from within 200 miles. In 2015 they relocated to the historic 12-acre Hobbs Farm, where they operate a restaurant inside an 1860s post-and-beam barn. Throwback is the only New Hampshire brewery that uses at least 70% — and up to 99% — New England-grown ingredients in every batch.
