New England Brewing Company (NEBCO) was established in its current form in 2002 when brewer Rob Leonard purchased the original NEBCO name — first created in 1989 in South Norwalk — and relaunched it as a production brewery in Woodbridge, Connecticut. Leonard, regarded as a godfather of the Connecticut craft brewing industry, built NEBCO into a pioneering force in craft canning and Connecticut beer culture. The brewery's Sea Hag IPA became the number-one-selling craft IPA in Connecticut. NEBCO produced more than 20,000 barrels in 2024 and announced an expansion into the former Stony Creek Brewery facility in Branford, Connecticut.
