Liefmans
On the banks of the Scheldt in Oudenaarde, Liefmans looks back on a history that reaches to 1679; around 1750 Jacobus Liefmans picked the town for its fertile soil. Local farmers once swapped surplus cherries for beer, and around 1900 the maturation tanks began to fill with them. Master brewer Rosa Merckx, the first and for years the only woman in that role, worked 46 years here, and her signature still sits on every pack. Beer rests in the brewery cellars, then young is blended with old. Part of Duvel Moortgat.

How we measure this
Two thresholds are at work here:
- The signature list shows notes that recur in at least 6% of this brewery's beers. A low bar — enough to flag a pattern, not high enough to call it an exclusive trait.
- The peer comparison below shows only notes where this brewery's coverage differs from similar breweries by at least 20 percentage points. A higher bar — enough to call a real difference, not a nudge.
A note can appear on the signature list without appearing in the peer comparison: it recurs here, but similar breweries do the same thing.
Liefmans On The Rocks Peach
