Soap maker Eberhard Anheuser became a part owner and by 1860 had bought out the other investors; his son-in-law Adolphus Busch joined soon after and in 1876 introduced Budweiser, an American-style lager built on barley malt and rice. The company has carried the name Anheuser-Busch since 1879. The original brewery on Pestalozzi Street still brews today, and the company has belonged to AB InBev since 2008.
