Quarry of Colour

Tap to rate

Quarry of Colour is a hazy pale ale brewed with Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe hops and first released in 2021. The brewery describes a soft beer bursting with fresh citrus and tropical fruit. Citrus peel and ripe tropical notes sit over a gentle, rounded body. The name refers to Happy Valley, Llandudno's nineteenth-century public gardens in a former limestone quarry, which burst into colour each spring. It won bronze at the UK final of the SIBA Indie Beer Awards in 2026.

◐ Taste

Entry brings a soft, rounded mouthfeel with immediate citrus and stone fruit flavours that evolve across the palate. The mid-palate showcases ripe mango and pithy grapefruit without harshness, while the 40 IBU bitterness remains gentle and well-integrated, complementing rather than dominating. The low alcohol weight allows the hop flavours to shine without warming or drying the mouth.
