🌍 Germany · Hefeweizen · One of 197 Hefeweizens in hopIQ

The brewery's flagship and the beer its reputation rests on, brewed with more than 70 percent wheat malt, fermented in open vessels and conditioned in the bottle with freshly harvested yeast. It pours a hazy, deep amber, noticeably darker than most Bavarian wheat beers, under a firm white head. The nose brings ripe banana, clove and fresh yeast; the palate is soft and malty with caramel, bread crust and a light citrus tartness, carried by lively carbonation. The body is full for its strength and the finish mild, with only a faint bitterness.

How to get the most out of Unertl Weißbier Original

Serve at 5–8°C
Refrigerate, then rest 2 min

Slightly warmer than a lager — 8–12°C allows the banana and clove esters from the yeast to fully develop.

Weizen glass
Recommended for this style

Tall and narrow at the base, flaring at the top — designed to hold the abundant foam of a wheat beer while showcasing its hazy golden body.

Best fresh. The yeast-driven banana and clove character fades over time. Drink within 4 months.
