🌍 Germany · Kölsch · One of 52 Kölschs in hopIQ

Sünner Wiess is the unfiltered counterpart to the brewery's Kölsch, introduced in 2022 and named after the cloudy top-fermented beer that was common in Cologne before filtration. It has an original gravity of 11.7 °P and pours golden to orange with a natural haze. Tasters describe a fresh, yeasty and fruity nose reminiscent of orchard fruit, gentle malt with a toasted grain note, and a bitterness that is firmer and spicier than in the filtered beer. It is poured on draught, including straight from the storage tank on brewery tours.
