Happy Days Session Pale Ale

Tap to rate

Happy Days is the session-strength pale ale of the core range and has been in the line-up since 2016. Pale, Vienna and wheat malt plus oats make up the grist, hopped with El Dorado, Cascade and Mosaic. Citrus and passion fruit lead the aroma, and ripe mango and juicy melon follow on the palate. At 20 IBU the bitterness stays low, so the fruit carries all the way into a gentle finish.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with bright citrus and passion fruit notes from the El Dorado and Mosaic hops, creating an immediately approachable bouquet. Subtle grain sweetness from the malt bill—particularly the Vienna and wheat malts—provides a gentle, biscuity foundation beneath the fruit. A touch of oat smoothness rounds out the aromatic profile without muddying the clean, herbaceous top notes.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with ripe mango and juicy melon, the fruit-forward character establishing itself immediately and carrying through the mid-palate with excellent clarity. Bitterness remains restrained at 20 IBU, allowing the tropical and stone-fruit notes to dominate while a light malt sweetness balances the structure. The oats contribute a velvety mouthfeel that prevents the beer from feeling thin despite its low alcohol and moderate body.

◑ Finish

The finish is clean and gently drying, with the fruit notes lingering into a soft aftertaste that avoids any sharp edges. The beer leaves the palate refreshed and ready for the next sip, true to its session-strength design.

Serve at 7–10°C

Cold enough to sharpen the hop aroma without numbing the palate. Around 7–9°C keeps the citrus and pine vivid without losing bitterness definition.

Pint glass

The classic — versatile, comfortable to hold and keeps the beer cool. No frills, no distractions: just the beer.

Drink fresh — hop aroma fades fast. Best within 3 months of canning or bottling.
