Tripelende Landloper

Tap to rate

Traditional Belgian-style Tripel with a hint of orange peel. At 8.4 % ABV it is brewed from barley and hopped with Saaz and Hallertau Blanc. Rabauw has called it a pillar of the brewery for years. Behind it is the non-profit Stichting Rabauw Craft Beer, which invests every cent of profit back; the brewers are Rabauwers, people with a distance to the labour market.

◐ Taste

The palate opens smooth and full-bodied, with a clean malty backbone that supports the pronounced hop bitterness. Orange and citrus flavors develop through the mid-palate alongside peppery spice notes, while a gentle booziness adds warmth and depth. The finish shifts toward drier territory with a subtle bready quality and lingering noble-hop character.

A long, dry finish with noble-hop bitterness and faint bready notes persisting on the palate. The heat of 8.4% ABV becomes evident in the aftertaste without overwhelming the delicate balance of fruit and spice.

Serve at 10–13°C in a goblet. The yeast character and carbonation are the stars — cold would suppress both.

Goblet

The wide mouth and heavy base promote head formation and channel rich aromatics toward the nose. Traditional for Belgian strong ales.

Drink within 2 years. Some complexity develops with age but the yeast character is best relatively fresh.
