Czech Republic·Czech Premium Pale Lager
Tap to rate

Brewed to recall the malting tradition of the Haná region, this pale lager is made with malt from Stupický staročeský, a barley variety from 1927, produced at the Záhlinice floor malthouse. The variety is almost 100 years old. The beer then lagers for 100 days in the historic lager cellar of the Dalešice brewery.

◎ Appearance

Bright pale golden color with excellent clarity and a fine, persistent white head that clings to the glass throughout the drinking experience. The carbonation is moderate and even, creating a steady stream of small bubbles that maintain the head's structure. Light plays across the beer with a clean, inviting luminosity characteristic of well-executed lagers.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with clean, grainy malt character underpinned by subtle bread notes from the historic Stupický barley variety. Noble hops contribute a gentle herbal and slightly spicy undertone that complements rather than dominates. The overall impression is restrained and elegant, with no sharp fermentation esters—evidence of the extended 100-day lagering period.

◐ Taste

Entry is soft and approachable, with malty sweetness at the core that develops into a smooth, slightly bready mid-palate. The beer drinks remarkably clean despite its 4.5% alcohol, with a measured bitterness that arrives mid-palate and builds gently through the finish without harshness. Noble hops provide a restrained spice that balances the malt without overwhelming it.
