Tally Ho!

Tap to rate

Mahogany-dark and complex: roasted, spicy-hoppy depth around a rich fruit-cake flavour that comes from the roasted malt. First brewed for Christmas 1949 as a bottled beer, it went on draught after a successful summer in the 1980s and is now brewed about six times a year for cask.

◐ Taste

Entry is rich and full-bodied, with roasted Malz providing the foundation for waves of dark dried fruit and subtle spice from noble Edelhopfen. Mid-palate balances warming alcohol with restrained bitterness (28 IBU) and a smooth, almost velvety texture; the fruit-cake character deepens without cloying, while hop spice gently asserts itself without dominance.
