Tap to rate

Once one of Ophiussa's most beloved core beers, Chaco is finally back after years away. ◌ Aroma

The nose leads with vibrant citrus notes—bright lemon and grapefruit zest—layered over pronounced pine and resinous undertones from the Mosaic and Simcoe hop pairing. A subtle earthiness and herbal quality grounds the aromatic profile without dominating. The pale malt base recedes appropriately, allowing the Edelhopfen to occupy the foreground.

◐ Taste

Entry is clean and crisp, with dry malt sweetness providing just enough body to frame the hop-forward character. Mid-palate brings sustained citrus and pine with a firm, well-integrated bitterness that builds gradually rather than striking harshly. The 60 IBU sits comfortably in balance, neither overwhelmed nor overtaken by the 7% ABV.

◑ Finish

The finish is dry and lingering, with resinous pine and subtle citrus pith persisting cleanly on the palate. Bitterness fades to a pleasant herbal echo without any harsh astringency.
