Adriaan Wit

Tap to rate

Named after De Adriaan, the town mill that ground grain for Haarlem's brewers until it burned down in 1932; Jopen paid for the rebuild with sales of this witbier. Orange, coriander seed and vanilla on the nose, a very soft palate with fresh orange, and a tart wheat-malt finish with lightly peppery coriander. 5.0% ABV.

Serve at 5–8°C

Serve cold to preserve the delicate citrus and spice aromas. Too warm and the yeast esters become heavy — too cold and the coriander disappears.

Witbier glass

The tall, slender wheat beer glass holds the full 50cl pour and shows off the hazy golden colour. The wide mouth lets citrus and spice aromas drift upward freely.

Best consumed fresh. Citrus and spice notes fade after 3–4 months. Drink within 6 months of packaging.
