Hertog Jan Bockbier

Tap to rate

A ruby-red, bittersweet Bockbier at 6.5% with a full, creamy, caramel-like taste. The Arcen brewers made the first Dutch Bockbier and brewed it top-fermented instead of bottom-fermented like the German original; in 1982 it marked the start of the Dutch bock tradition. It appears once a year to open the new brewing season and keeps well, so its taste can develop further.
