Hertog Jan Brouwerij
Hertog Jan Brouwerij is located in Arcen, a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. The brewery's origins date to 1915, when the Stoombierbrouwerij de Vriendenkring was established there by four local brewers. After suffering severe damage in World War II and facing closure in 1980, the brewery was relaunched in 1981 by Toon van de Reek and partners under the name Arcense Stoombierbrouwerij, pivoting to top-fermented specialty beers. In 1995 the brewery was acquired by Interbrew (now Anheuser-Busch InBev), and in 1998 it was renamed Hertog Jan Brouwerij. It continues to operate as a production facility within AB InBev's Dutch brewing network.

How we measure this
Two thresholds are at work here:
- The signature list shows notes that recur in at least 6% of this brewery's beers. A low bar — enough to flag a pattern, not high enough to call it an exclusive trait.
- The peer comparison below shows only notes where this brewery's coverage differs from similar breweries by at least 20 percentage points. A higher bar — enough to call a real difference, not a nudge.
A note can appear on the signature list without appearing in the peer comparison: it recurs here, but similar breweries do the same thing.

Their beers place in the Top 2% of the catalogue on average, across 2 ranked beers.
