Seven Peaks

Tap to rate

A session-strength IPA named after the seven-peaked roof of the Glasgow brewery. It pours burnished gold, sometimes with a light haze, under a white foamy head. The nose brings pine needle, spruce, forest berries and floral gorse; on the palate sweet caramel and toasty malt meet a moderate citrus bitterness with a biting edge. The body is light and the finish long and dry. Mosaic, Ekuanot and Chinook provide the hops over extra pale, dextrin and wheat malt. Until 2019 the name belonged to a 5% IPA.

Serve at 7–10°C

Serve well-chilled. Session IPAs are at their best cold — the lower ABV means less warmth to balance the hops.

Tulip glass

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.

Drink fresh. Session IPAs are brewed to be consumed young — the hops are at their best now.

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same piney, toasty, dry character as Seven Peaks will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
