Pool Party

Tap to rate

Light and refreshing, yet still clearly hop-forward and cloudy: Pool Party is a small NEIPA from Chroust, the Prague brand of Karolína and Jirka Chroustovští. The brand has made unfiltered, unpasteurised beer since 2016 and is settled at Clock Fenetra, where it invested in its own tanks. Adéla Bierbaumer designs its labels.

AI-generated sensory profile for Pool Party

◎ Appearance

Pool Party presents a pale golden hue with pronounced cloudiness from the suspended yeast, characteristic of the NEIPA style. The head is compact and creamy, with moderate retention that gradually recedes into a thin collar. Fine carbonation sparkles throughout the glass, contributing to the beer's lively visual presence.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with assertive hop aromatics—prominent citrus notes, particularly lemon and grapefruit, mingle with subtle tropical fruit esters that suggest peach and passionfruit. Beneath the hop-forward character lies a soft, barely perceptible Malz sweetness, while the unfiltered yeast adds a delicate, slightly earthy undertone without dominating the overall impression.

◐ Taste

The palate opens crisp and light, with immediate hop bitterness balanced by a whisper of Malz residue that prevents harshness. Mid-palate shows cohesive citrus and stone fruit character, while the 50 IBU restrain bitterness to a measured, clean finish rather than an aggressive bite. The low 3.5% ABV keeps the beer deft and sessionable, with no warming alcohol sensations.

◑ Finish

The finish dries quickly and cleanly, with lingering citrus oil and a faint hop resin bite that fades within seconds. No cloying sweetness or harsh tannin remains—only a refreshing, slightly peppery aftertaste that invites another sip.
