Tap to rate
🌍 Spain · Pale Lager · One of 167 Pale Lagers in hopIQ

Mediterranean Eco is Althaia's organic lager, brewed only from water, organically grown barley malt and hops plus yeast, and it is also gluten-free. It pours a brilliant straw gold under a creamy white head that lasts. The nose is soft and malty with fresh, herbal hop notes. On the palate it is full-flavoured and well balanced, clean and refreshing. The brewery pairs it with salads, sushi, tapas and light starters. It is sold in bottles well beyond the brewery shop, including Spanish supermarkets.

◌ Aroma

The nose is soft and inviting, leading with clean malty notes that suggest well-kilned barley rather than heavy grain character. Fresh herbal hop aromas emerge as the beer warms, providing a green, garden-like counterpoint to the malt base. No yeast-derived esters or sulfur notes intrude, allowing the organic ingredients to speak clearly.

About Pale Lager

Style guide · what to expect · how to find alternatives

What is a Pale Lager?

Euro Pale Lagers are clean, refreshing lagers with 4–5.5% ABV and IBU 10–25. Soft malt sweetness, light hop bitterness and high carbonation make them supremely drinkable.

Finding a similar Pale Lager

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same herbal, refreshing, malty character as Mediterranean Eco will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
