Innviertler Hell

Tap to rate

A Vollbier of balanced taste, named for the Innviertel in Upper Austria, where the brewery stands in Altheim. Upper Austrian malt and hops of the Mühlviertel and the Bavarian Hallertau, raw materials of the immediate surroundings, give it its character and its name. Like every Raschhofer beer it comes from the direct-fired copper kettle, ferments openly and matures for weeks in horizontal tanks.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with a light, malty body that carries the grain character of the regional Malz without heaviness. Bittering from the Hallertauer is restrained at 18 IBU, offering structure and balance rather than assertiveness; the finish dries gently, allowing the natural hop resin to linger without astringency. The overall impression is one of honest, straightforward elegance.
