Egger IPA

Tap to rate

Very fruity with exotic fruit, strong and properly hoppy: double hopping with three American hop varieties gives the IPA its drinkable, fruity taste. It is unfiltered, unpasteurised and the brewery's first top-fermented beer. Brewer Dominik Gessler, who brought his enthusiasm for the style back from Australia, developed the recipe, with his favourite hop, Cascade, set from the start. It is sold only at the brewery's ramp.

◐ Taste

The palate enters clean and fruity, with tropical and citrus notes weaving through a balanced malt foundation. The 40 IBU bitterness is restrained and well-integrated, providing structure without dominating the fruit-forward character. Body is light to medium, allowing the hop expression to remain prominent through the mid-palate.

◑ Finish

The finish is crisp and moderately dry, with lingering citrus notes and a subtle hop bite that fades cleanly. The low ABV and balanced bitterness make this remarkably drinkable despite its assertive hop profile.

Serve at 8–11°C

Serve well-chilled. Session IPAs are at their best cold — the lower ABV means less warmth to balance the hops.

Tulip glass

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.

Drink fresh. Session IPAs are brewed to be consumed young — the hops are at their best now.

What is a IPA?

IPAs are hop-forward ales with 5.5–7.5% ABV and IBU 40–70+. Bold hop aroma — citrus, tropical, resinous — with firm bitterness and a dry, clean finish.

Finding a similar IPA

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same fruity, hoppy, smooth-drinking character as Egger IPA will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
