🌍 Germany · Hefeweizen · One of 215 Hefeweizens in hopIQ

Bierbichler is an old Rosenheim wheat beer that locals have known for more than a hundred years from the Fischküche inn. When the Bierbichler wheat beer brewery closed in 1996, Flötzinger took over the recipe and still fills the beer in its own bottles. It pours amber and hazy, as it carries an extra measure of fine yeast. Banana and clove from that yeast meet a fine caramel note and a soft, bready malt sweetness, with very little bitterness and a round, mild finish.

Refrigerate, then rest 2 min

Slightly warmer than a lager — 8–12°C allows the banana and clove esters from the yeast to fully develop.

Recommended for this style

Tall and narrow at the base, flaring at the top — designed to hold the abundant foam of a wheat beer while showcasing its hazy golden body.

Best fresh. The yeast-driven banana and clove character fades over time. Drink within 4 months.
