🌍 Australia · Hazy Pale Ale · One of 23 Hazy Pale Ales in hopIQ

A low-carbohydrate hazy pale ale at 5.0 percent, grown out of a taproom keg that kept selling out. The hopping rests on one small New Zealand Motueka crop whose growing conditions push it away from the usual lemon-lime profile: melon, grape and a gentle geranium note instead, with rose water on the nose and a trailing coconut finish. The body stays soft and full despite the low sugar.

Aroma

The nose leads with delicate rose water and white floral notes, supported by distinctive stone fruit character — melon and grape predominate over the typical citrus expected from Motueka. A subtle geranium note threads through the mid-range, adding complexity without asserting itself, while the base remains clean and approachable.

Taste

The palate opens soft and fruity, with melon and stone fruit flavors echoing the nose. The body remains full and creamy despite the declared low-carbohydrate profile, creating a smooth mouthfeel that belies the modest alcohol level. Bitterness is restrained and well-balanced, allowing the hop character to express as flavor rather than harsh bite, with a trailing coconut note emerging in the mid-palate.
