Yakima Valley

Tap to rate

Yakima Valley is what the brewery calls its flagship premium-strength beer, an IPA packed with American hops and made since 2011. It is brewed with Amarillo, Centennial, Chinook and Citra, and Arbor promises bold flavours of citrus, sweet grapefruit and marmalade. A resinous, piney note and a firm, lasting bitterness belong to the picture as well; tasters call it fruity, strong and distinctly bitter. The malt body is full enough to carry the hop load, with a little sweetness before the dry finish.

◐ Taste

The palate enters with a full malt body that successfully carries the substantial hop load without becoming thin or sharp. Citrus and grapefruit flavors unfold mid-palate, supported by a marmalade-like sweetness, while a piney resinousness develops gradually. The bitterness is firm and pronounced, building steadily and asserting itself throughout the tasting experience.
