Yallah Flat White

Tap to rate

A pale coffee stout brewed together with the roaster Yallah. The base is sweet and full-bodied, built on oats and lactose, and only a small, restrained addition of Columbus hops goes in so that the beans lead in both aroma and flavour. They come from Yallah's sailboat collection, a project that brings coffee into Falmouth harbour under sail. The beer first appeared in December 2023, shortly after the brand restarted in Cornwall, and sits at 6.6%.

◐ Taste

The entry is full and smooth, with lactose and oats delivering immediate sweetness and body. Coffee flavours arrive cleanly, carrying roasted depth without bitterness. Mid-palate shows a gentle bitterness from Columbus hops that integrates rather than dominates, allowing the interplay between sweet Malz, creamy adjuncts, and coffee to remain central. The finish holds that balance throughout.

◑ Finish

The finish is sustained and warming, with lingering coffee notes and subtle roast complexity. Sweetness fades gradually, leaving a dry cocoa-like aftertaste that persists for several seconds.
