hopIQ found 10 beers with the same dry and malty character as Lug Tread. Lug Tread is the beer Beau's was founded on: fermented warm with ale yeast, then cold-aged like a lager, in the manner of the golden ales of Cologne. It pours a clear straw gold under a rocky white head. The malt recalls graham cracker and sweet grain, joined by fresh-cut hay and a faint note of apple. A moderate hop bitterness keeps the sweetness in balance, and the finish is clean and dry. The brewery calls it a lagered ale and brews it all year. Ranked by flavour match rather than popularity.
