Strong Imperial Ale·United Kingdom·8.4% ABV·One of 1 Strong Imperial Ales in hopIQ·

hopIQ found 10 beers that share Lorton Ale's spicy and full-bodied character. Seville marmalade, Christmas spices and a real treacle depth, balanced by hints of spice from the hops. Lorton Ale is a rich, mahogany imperial ale of 8.4 %, revived from archive letters and recipes and brewed with modern malts and hops. Jennings moved from the village of Lorton to Cockermouth in 1874, and for 46 years before that the soft Lakeland water there made stronger, darker, sweeter ales.
