The color sits between copper and mahogany, with a warm translucence that speaks to its blend of young and aged components. Carbonation is gentle and well-integrated, neither aggressive nor flat.

The nose opens with fresh, lightly tart impressions—red apple and green apple lead, followed by a distinctive vinegar note that is neither harsh nor unwelcome. Underlying these bright elements is a solid caramel malt foundation, with oak integration adding depth rather than dominance. The overall effect is inviting and complex without being heavy.

On the palate, Vichtenaar is notably dry and sharply tart from the outset, with sour cherry and green apple creating a brisk, cutting impression. The mid-palate balances acidity with faint caramel sweetness, though dryness remains the defining character throughout.
