Deep mahogany to dark brown hue, characteristic of the Dark Mild style, with excellent clarity. A dense, tan head forms on the pour and demonstrates solid retention, clinging to the glass with visible lacing as the beer is consumed. The cask conditioning contributes to a naturally soft carbonation.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with prominent caramel and toffee notes, layered with subtle toasted malt character. Delicate herbal and earthy hop impressions emerge beneath, balanced by a whisper of dried fruit — plum or raisin — that adds complexity without dominating. The overall aromatics are restrained and refined, befitting the beer's modest hop rate.

◐ Geschmack

The palate opens with gentle caramel sweetness and a soft malt body that carries flavours of bread crust and light chocolate. Mid-palate fruit notes — dried fruit and subtle stone fruit — integrate with the delicate hop bitterness, which remains understated at 24 IBU. The low alcohol (3.5% ABV) allows all flavours to remain balanced and approachable, with no warming alcohol character.

The finish is clean and brief, with lingering malt sweetness and a gentle drying sensation from the restrained hop bitterness. No harsh edges or cloying aftertaste — the beer returns to baseline quickly, inviting another sip.
