Deep garnet-black body with minimal transparency, characteristic of a high-gravity black IPA. A dense tan head forms on the pour with moderate retention and fine lacing that clings to the glass. The carbonation is lively but measured, appropriate for the beer's weight and alcohol content.

◌ Aroma

Loamy earth and dark soil lead the nose, anchoring the complex bouquet. Behind the terroir-forward notes sit roasted coffee and charred barley malt, layered with subtle green hop bitterness and hints of dark stone fruit. As the beer warms, the 11.2% ABV becomes apparent as a gentle alcohol warmth without harshness.

The palate opens with bold black barley and roasted grain, immediately followed by a substantial bitter punch from the 100 IBUs. A medium body carries the malt backbone through the mid-palate, where dark cherry and plum emerge beneath the coffee and char notes. The bitterness persists cleanly without astringency, allowing the subtle dark fruit complexity to unfold.
