Jakehead IPA

Jakehead has this almost ethereal quality to it—juicy without being heavy, with a soft pillowy mouthfeel that doesn't announce itself. The hop profile is subtle and effervescent, more about nebulous citrus and stone fruit aromatics than aggressive flavor hits. It finishes clean and quick, which is exactly what you want when you're planning on having two or three of these.

The Substance Ale

The Substance is denser, rounder. There's a soft malt sweetness underneath that gives the beer actual weight—you can feel it settling in your mouth. The hops are still restrained by New England standards, but they land with more presence, a bit more resinous. It's the kind of IPA that actually tastes like food-friendly beer, not just a vehicle for hop aromatics.
