Pivovar Samson
Samson is the oldest brewery in České Budějovice (Budweis), with roots in 1795, when Budweis burghers with brewing rights founded a joint company to brew and sell beer. Construction of today's brewery in the Linz suburb began in 1847. Water comes from a 274-metre artesian well, hops from Žatec, malt mainly from Tábor, and the yeast is cultivated in-house. In 1974 Samson launched Pito, the first beer for drivers. Since 2014 it has belonged to AB InBev.
