In 1968 it secured the first licence to brew Carlsberg outside Denmark. Around 110 people now brew Carlsberg, Carlsberg 0.0, Leon, Krauzer Bräu and the Sandy beers there, and the brewery says all its electrical and thermal energy comes from renewable sources, biomethane included.
