Oso Brew Co was founded in Madrid in 2018 by David Ross and Patrick Tuck, two Britons who had met there as students; oso means bear, the animal on the city's coat of arms. The first batches, a table beer and a citrus cream ale, were sold from a market stall, and the bar La Osita on Cava Baja followed in 2019. Until 2024 the beers were brewed under contract. In September 2024 the company opened its own brewery with a taproom in Alcobendas, north of Madrid, partly financed by crowdfunding. The range centres on hazy, hop-led ales around a small core of lighter beers.
