Genesee Brewing Company
Genesee has brewed on St. Paul Street in Rochester, beside the falls of the Genesee River, since 1878. From 2000 to 2009 the business traded under the High Falls name. The range is built around an adjunct lager, a light lager and the Cream Ale first brewed in 1960, joined by a spring bock and other seasonal releases. Since 2012 the Brew House, a former packaging building, has run a 20-barrel pilot system alongside a restaurant and museum. In September 2026 the parent was sold to a private equity firm and returned to the name North American Breweries.

How we measure this
Two thresholds are at work here:
- The signature list shows notes that recur in at least 6% of this brewery's beers. A low bar — enough to flag a pattern, not high enough to call it an exclusive trait.
- The peer comparison below shows only notes where this brewery's coverage differs from similar breweries by at least 20 percentage points. A higher bar — enough to call a real difference, not a nudge.
A note can appear on the signature list without appearing in the peer comparison: it recurs here, but similar breweries do the same thing.
Genesee Cream Ale
Their beers place in the Top 25% of the catalogue on average, across 12 ranked beers. Consistent rather than spiky — no single standout carrying the rest.
