Birrificio Barley is an independent craft brewery founded in August 2006 by Nicola Perra and Isidoro Mascia in Maracalagonis, in the province of Cagliari, Sardinia. The brewery was established with the ambition of positioning beer as a gastronomic product on par with wine. All Barley beers are unfiltered, unpasteurised, and bottle-refermented, encouraging layered aromatic development and natural carbonation. The brewery is particularly recognised as one of the pioneers of the Italian Grape Ale style, blending local winemaking heritage with craft brewing.
