Baladin was founded in 1996 as a brewpub in Piozzo, a small village in the Langhe area of the province of Cuneo in Piedmont, by master brewer Teo Musso. Musso is widely regarded as one of the founding fathers of Italian craft beer, drawing early inspiration from Belgian brewing traditions. In 2012, Baladin transitioned into an agricultural farm brewery, taking responsibility for the entire production chain and releasing Nazionale, the first beer made entirely with Italian-grown ingredients. A new, modern production facility was inaugurated in 2016, and today the brewery exports over 33 beer varieties to approximately 50 countries worldwide.
