Simple Things Scottish Export

Tap to rate

A contemporary take on the Scottish 80 Shilling. Rich mahogany in colour with a thick, creamy head, it is fermented cool and slowly so that the grain leads. Pale, wheat, rye, aromatic and black malts give toffee, fresh-baked bread and apple crumble on the nose, and the mouthfeel is silky. Dried fruit and caramel follow on the palate, joined by a note of pine and resinous citrus. Just enough rounded hop bitterness keeps the finish clean and crisp. Malt-driven throughout, polished yet easy to drink.
