Smrtisyn

Tap to rate

The name comes from poetry: the brewer found his inspiration in “Zmargazín pro veselejší konec života Smrtisyn”. Because that is fairly demanding reading, he kept the beer itself simple and brewed it as a SMASH, with a single malt and a single hop. A beer from the Děčín brewery Nomád, founded by brewer Jan Kočka.

No yeast-driven esters or phenolics intrude; the profile is straightforward and inviting.

◐ Taste

Entry is smooth and malty, with caramel sweetness building through the mid-palate without cloying. The single hop variety contributes a measured bitterness and light spice that balances the residual malt sweetness without dominating. The 28 IBU sits comfortably, providing structure rather than aggression, and the finish dries gradually toward a gentle, lingering malt aftertaste.
