Světák

Czech Republic·Czech Premium Pale Lager
Tap to rate

A golden Czech-type lager with a fuller malt body and a higher bitterness, brewed exclusively from Czech malts and hops. Světák is the flagship of the house and makes up roughly half of the brewery's production. Like every beer from Krásná Lípa it goes out fresh after maturation, unfiltered and unpasteurized, brewed at eleven degrees.

Tasting Notes

AI-generated sensory profile for Světák

◎ Appearance

Światák presents a luminous golden hue, characteristic of the Czech Premium Pale Lager style. The natural cloudiness from its unfiltered, unpasteurized state creates a soft, slightly hazy appearance with fine suspended particles from active yeast. The head forms with moderate density and leaves delicate lacing on the glass, while crisp carbonation sustains gentle bubble trails.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with restrained noble-hop character—spicy and herbal notes from Czech hop varieties with subtle floral undertones. Beneath sits a clean malty foundation with gentle bready notes, speaking to the exclusive use of Czech malts. The fresh fermentation profile is evident but understated, with no harsh yeast esters; the overall impression is one of crisp, mineral-like cleanliness typical of young, living lager.

◐ Taste

Bitterness dominates the palate—direct and well-integrated from the 36 IBUs—yet never aggressive or harsh. The malt backbone is fuller than standard Czech lagers, providing a smooth, slightly sweet counterpoint that prevents the beer from becoming lean or austere. Mid-palate carries the bready, grainy character of Czech malts, while the crisp finish dries cleanly, leaving a lingering noble-hop bite and malty sweetness in balance.

◑ Finish

The finish is dry and enduring, with bitter and malty notes persisting equally on the tongue. A mineral-like crispness cuts through, characteristic of the brewery's water and yeast profile, leaving the palate ready for the next sip.
