🌍 Australia · Pale Lager · One of 73 Pale Lagers in hopIQ

Beer Can was Moon Dog's first canned beer, released in 2016, and is sold as a tropical lager. It is brewed from pale malt and torrefied wheat, hopped with Centennial, Citra and Simcoe, and peach, mango and passionfruit juice go in during brewing. The result is light and pale, with grapefruit, peach and passionfruit on the nose, a touch of mango on the palate and a slight resinous bite before a crisp, refreshing finish.

The nose leads with bright stone fruit character—prominent peach and passionfruit notes mingle with subtle grapefruit zest from the Citra and Simcoe hops. A soft mango undertone adds tropical dimension without overwhelming; the overall profile remains clean and approachable rather than aggressively fruity.

About Pale Lager

Style guide · what to expect · how to find alternatives

What is a Pale Lager?

Euro Pale Lagers are clean, refreshing lagers with 4–5.5% ABV and IBU 10–25. Soft malt sweetness, light hop bitterness and high carbonation make them supremely drinkable.

Finding a similar Pale Lager

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same peach, tropical, fruity character as Beer will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
