Like the pale Dorada it is fully fermented with a dedicated yeast and ends at 0.4 percent ABV. It shows a deep amber to brown colour. Toasted malt and caramel dominate the flavour, with a hint of chocolate in the background, a fuller body than most alcohol-free lagers and a medium bitterness of 20 IBU.

Tasting Notes

AI-generated sensory profile for Modelo 0% Negra

◎ Appearance

Modelo 0% Negra presents a deep amber to brown hue with good clarity and moderate carbonation visible as fine bubbles rising steadily through the glass. The head forms with moderate density and maintains fair retention, leaving light lacing on the glass walls as it recedes. The overall presentation conveys substance and colour intensity typical of darker lagers despite the reduced alcohol content.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with prominent toasted malt character, delivering notes of biscuit and light caramel sweetness. A subtle chocolate undertone emerges on closer inspection, adding depth without overwhelming the malt-forward profile. The hop presence remains restrained, allowing the fermentation character to complement rather than dominate the aromatic landscape.

◐ Taste

The palate enters with smooth, malt-driven sweetness—toasted grain and caramel dominate the mid-palate, creating a fuller body than typical alcohol-free lagers. The 20 IBU bitterness provides balanced counterpoint without harshness, and faint chocolate notes add complexity. The finish is clean, with mild residual sweetness and a gentle bitter edge that persists without astringency.

◑ Finish

The finish is moderately long with a gentle fade, leaving toasted malt and soft chocolate impressions on the palate. A light bitter drying completes the drinking experience without any harsh or chemical aftertaste typical of some alcohol-free alternatives.
