Who Cooks For You

Mango, watermelon and lemon fill the aroma and flavor of this hazy pale ale, finished with a soft bitterness. It was the first hazy pale ale Jackie O's packaged, double dry hopped with more than three pounds per barrel of Cryo hop powder and pellets from Yakima – Centennial, Citra and Mosaic – on Carapils and oats. The name comes from the call of the Appalachian barred owl. 5.5 % ABV.

AI-generated sensory profile for Who Cooks For You

◎ Appearance

A hazy golden-amber pour with a soft, pillowy head that settles to a thin collar. The cloudiness is deliberate and attractive, arising from suspended yeast and grain particles rather than chill haze. Moderate carbonation generates steady streams of fine bubbles and leaves delicate lacing on the glass.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with ripe stone fruit and tropical notes—mango and watermelon dominate—layered beneath bright citrus from the Cryo Citra and Mosaic hops. A subtle grainy sweetness from the Carapils and oat base peeks through, grounding the fruit without overshadowing it. The overall impression is fresh and summery, with no harsh resinous edges.

◐ Taste

The palate opens juicy and fruit-forward, with the tropical hop character translating directly from nose to mouth. Mid-palate shows good body for the 5.5% ABV, supported by the oat component's soft, velvety texture. Bitterness arrives as a measured 40 IBU finishing touch—present and clean but never sharp, allowing the fruit to remain the centerpiece.
