Foster

Tap to rate

Citrus and tropical fruit lead, with a touch of dryness at the end. This American IPA is brewed with Citra and Simcoe hops, American malted barley and the house ale yeast at 6%. Foster Hill (1904–1919) was Edward's brother, and this namesake beer revives an earlier, rarely brewed version in the Ancestral series.

◐ Taste

The palate delivers immediate tropical and citrus intensity that evolves through the mid-section into a clean, crisp bitterness that builds gradually without harshness. American malted barley provides a light, dry backbone that allows the hop character to dominate, finishing with a pleasant resinous bite that balances the fruit sweetness.

◑ Finish

The finish is dry and relatively short, with the initial citrus notes fading into a lingering hop-driven bitterness that leaves the palate clean and ready for the next sip. The dryness prevents any cloying sensation, characteristic of the Ancestral series' refined approach.
